1. Do I need a special computer input device to use ActivePen? 
No. Just use your keyboard and mouse.

2. Does ActivePen have editions in other languages? 
No. Right now we only release English edition for ActivePen 1.x.

3. I know ActivePen is an annotation tool. But, can I capture screen without doing any annotation? 
Absolutely. As a matter of fact, you can use ActivePen as a screen capture tool only.

4. Why the online help does not work? 
The online help in ActivePen 1.x requires Microsoft’s HTML Help Engine. If you use windows 95 or windows NT4.0, please install Internet Explorer V4.1 or later, Or download
hhupd.exe

5. How do I capture the entire screen? 
Set ActivePen to capture mode, then press Shift+F6.

6. How do I capture drop-down box? 
Follow these steps:

  1. In your application, display the drop-down box.
  2. Press "Print Screen" button once. (located on top-right)
  3. Open ActivePen.
  4. Press Ctrl+V.
You may repeat the process to display multiple drop-down boxes on the same screen. This technique can also be used to capture right-click menu etc.

7. Can I capture the screen to clipboard only? 
Yes. To do so, press and hold Ctrl key before releasing left button during screen capturing operation. Then release both Ctrl key and left button simultaneously. To paste the captured image to you document, simply press Ctrl+V or use "Paste" menu item from your application.

8. How do I have ActivePen started automatically each time I start Windows? 
Windows 2000:

  1. Click Start | Settings | Taskbar and Start Menu...
  2. Select Advanced tab.
  3. Click Advanced button.
  4. Expand Start Menu | Programs.
  5. Click Startup folder
  6. Move mouse to the right panel, click right button, select New | Shortcut.
  7. Use Browse button to navigate to where you installed ActivePen (if you use default setting during installation, the folder should be C:\Program Files\Activepen 1.0\)
  8. Select ActivePen.exe
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Finish.
Windows XP:
  1. Click Start | Control Panel.
  2. Click Appesrance and Themes.
  3. Select Taskbar and Start Menu.
  4. Click Start menu tab.
  5. Select Classic Start menu radio button.
  6. Click Customize button
  7. Click Advanced button.
  8. Navigate to Start Menu | Programs | Startup.
  9. Move mouse to right panel, right-click, select New | Shortcut
  10. Use Browse button to navigate to where you installed ActivePen (if you use default setting during installation, the folder should be C:\Program Files\Activepen 1.0\)
  11. Select ActivePen.exe.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Click Finish.
Windows 98/ME:
  1. Click Start | Settings | Taskbar and Start Menu...
  2. For Windows 98, select Start Menu Programs tab, for Windows ME, select Advanced tab.
  3. Click Advanced button.
  4. From left panel, click Programs to expand then select Startup folder.
  5. Move mouse to the right panel, click right button, select New | Shortcut.
  6. Use Browse button to navigate to where you installed ActivePen (if you use default setting during installation, the folder should be C:\Program Files\Activepen 1.0\)
  7. Select ActivePen.exe
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Finish.
Windows 95/NT:
  1. Click Start | Settings | Taskbar...
  2. Select Start Menu Programs tab.
  3. Click Advanced button.

  5. Move mouse to the right panel, click right button, select New | Shortcut.
  6. Use Browse button to navigate to where you installed ActivePen (if you use default setting during installation, the folder should be C:\Program Files\Activepen 1.0\)

9. How do I make the text font size larger than 72 points? 
First select the largest font size from right-click menu: Text Option | size | 72. Then press and hold Ctrl button, spin the mouse wheel forward (or press up arrow) until you find your desired size. (Tip: since there is no size indicator, you must type a new character in order to view the change. If you don't want to type any letter, just hit space bar.)

10. Does ActivePen support the use of graphics tablets such as watcom tablet graphire 2? 
Yes.

11. How do I purchase the software? 
To purchase the software, you only need to buy a registration code. You can do this by clicking on the
Purchase button which will take you to the e-payment page. The process is secure and reliable. If you prefer to use personal check or money order, print out the order form and mail it to:

12. How do I use the registration code? 
You'll be instructed in email upon successful registration.

13. How do I retrieve the registration code if I lose it? 
Send a blank email with subject titled "Registration Code" to
support@kongda.com. Note that your email address must match the one used for registration. If you have changed email address, contact support@kongda.com to provide your new email address.

14. Do you distribute ActivePen on CD-ROM? 
Yes, but we encourage electronic process. The CD is provided only to residents living in the United States or Canada. Note that there is additional charge for shipping & handling. For details, check out this

15. Do you provide return policy? 
Due to the nature of software, we do not offer return policy. You should fully evaluate the software before purchasing it.

16. Is your website secure for my online order? 
Yes, we partner with
www.paypal.com and www.2checkout.com to handle online payment. Both use 128-bit SSL (Security Socket Layer) to guarantee that your online order is secure.

17. How does the on-line software order work? 
You download a full-featured trial/demo version of ActivePen.  If you are interested in purchasing the software, you can purchase software online and we will send you a license key to unlock the software.

18. What credit cards do you accept? 
We do not take credit cards directly so you'll never worry about exposing your card numbers to us. This will ensure the safety of your online purchase. To find out what kind of cardit cards you can use, check
PayPal.com or 2Checkout.com

19. Can I use non-US currencies? 
Yes, while all our prices are displayed in US dollars, your credit card companies or banks will do currency conversion.

20. Do you provide free upgrades? 
We do provide free upgrades for maintenance release through service packages, which can be downloaded from our website for free. However, there may be upgrade charge for major releases.
